It's a weird day, y'all, and it's been awhile since I've done something like this, so: have a shipping meme.

Give me a fandom in the comments and I will tell you which pairing or poly ship in that fandom:

1. Is the forever ship of my heart
2. Is the one I don't have a lot of feelings about but know I can always go back to for long comfort fic
3. Has the best porn
4. Is just NO

(Caveat: fandom must be large enough to have significant amounts of fic for at least four pairings)
(Caveat 2: it does not have to be a fandom you have heard me talk about much or recently, because let's face it, if it has that much fic I have probably read enough to be able to answer these, although that is not a dare.)
(Caveat 3: all answers to 4 are in the spirit of ykinmkato because I am enough of an Old to believe in that.)

That's too many ships! I'm going to limit it to original-Avengers-adjacent for my own sanity, if you want some other subset you will have to ask for that subset :P

1. Tony/JARVIS. Also Peggy Carter/Nick Fury but I think I am the only one there.
2. Clint/Coulson
3. Anything involving Loki
4. Superfamily of the "Avengers adopt small Peter Parker" variety, because fcuk you, Aunt May is fcuking awesome, she was a Herald of Galactus once, and a Peter Parker who wasn't raised by Aunt May and Uncle Ben is so different from basic Peter that you've really gotta work for it and use him as something other than a prop for you slash domesticity. (I'm okay with "Tony is the world's most awkward father figure but Peter still lives with May". And am theoretically okay with "Tony etc. adopt Peter after Aunt May joins the Avengers polycule" but I don't think I've ever seen that. Just don't write May and Ben out of Peter's life.)

Oh jeez can't y'all narrow it down some.

1. The crew of the original Enterprise NCC-1701/Their Ship. Or Spock/McCoy, if that's cheating.
2. Kirk/Spock (Okay I have feelings about Kirk/Spock as an epic friendship, but I am take-it-or-leave it about it being an epic romance, and also without McCoy (and Uhura and Scotty) along part of the heart is gone.)
3. Q/Picard
4. Spock/Chapel, I guess? (So I've seen this done well, but mostly I am super uninterested in your standard "I am the one girl in all the world who will be able to teach Spock about ~lurve" storyline, as played by multiple minor female character and many, many OFCs over the years.)

(It has been so long since I've watched or read much DS9 or VOY that I don't have any strong feelings on ships, beyond "I would like everyone on DS9 to be happy forever" and "I would like the crew of Voyager to have fewer plotlines lifted from daytime soaps", and I haven't watched ENT or DISCO at all, so this is what you get.)

This one is tough! I think I really don't interact with this fandom in terms of ships. But I boiled it all the way home and this is what rose to the top:

1. Simon/Alys (with background never-acted-on-because-ethics mutual Simon/Aral pining and backstory ethics-what-ethics Simon/(Ezar)/(Negri) if I feel like lots of pain.)
2. Ivan/By
3. This fandom deserves way more porn (less than 4% porn, and half of that's in Russian!), and I feel like if there actually was any Admiral Naismith porn being written I would be there for it*, but yeah, with what we've got, Aral Vorkosigan/Unwise Life Decisions, basically
4. Byerly Vorrutyer/Heteronormativity

*I still want somebody to write me Ekaterin/Admiral Naismith someday

There is way to little Ivan/By out there... and in a related subject, 4) had me seething with disappointment after reading Captain Vorpatil's Alliance. I mean, *Rish* isn't normative at all by Barayan standards, so that was good at least, but the rest of it had me so disappointed with Lois McMaster Bujold.
God knows I love the whole saga, but it does have some disappointing queerbaiting... (don't get me started on Bel...) The worst is that it would have been very easy to turn Rish male, the plot would have been 99% the same...

Well, I did find a fic that somewhat managed to reconcile me with the canon: A Bit Too Much Good Work by a_t_rain is very plotty and have some stellar characterizations both for By and Rish if you care to try it...

I would totally read any kind of Admiral Naismith-centered porn...

I have no idea if Rivers of London, my first thought, has at least four pairings. And I'm a little squicky about Muppet porn, which was my second thought. In fact, I keep jumping to children's media (thought three was any Diana Wynne Jones universe!), which really puts a damper on the whole "porn" aspect of things.

How about Thief of Eddis?

With Thief of Eddis you've found one I've never read in (partly it doesn't really have enough longfic to draw me in without the canon, partly I kind of want to maybe get around to reading it unspoiled someday.)

I probably can do the others though!

Muppets:
1. Rizzo the Rat/Oscar the Grouch (if you have seen the original Muppets Christmas special, you will understand.) Also, Bert/Ernie.
2. Sadly I don't think there's enough enough longfic in Muppets for this to exist, but tiny!me in her first fandom would like to vote for Maria/Luis.
3. Anything crossover, probably involving Jack Harkness and/or Farscape characters (I feel like the band probably gets up to pretty wild stuff, though.)
4. Honeydew/Beaker. That is *not* a healthy dynamic, yo.

Rivers of London:
1. Nightingale/Mellenby
2. Peter/Thomas probably counts in that I have transferred most of my active feels to Beverly/Peter/Thomas poly V
3. There are a total of 8 fics on AO3 rated E that do not involve Peter/Thomas, so I guess Peter/Beverly by default because their canon scene was great.
4. Peter/Lesley (even before she went bad, their canon dynamic was really not my thing. Although I might be okay with screwed up hatesex for them in current canon.)

3. I actually have never gone to this fandom for porn? I feel like I have read some good dwarf-on-dwarf stuff, but nothing stands out. (Probably I should go looking for Silm-era Sauron fic and see what turns up, I suspect that is where the porn I would be interested in is.)
4. Bilbo/Thorin. Maybe if I had managed to get through all the Hobbit movies I would understand, but I have many better things to do with my time, like watching paint dry, and so I do not understand. (Also, anything with Turin Turambar. Asshole, he deserved everything that happened to him.)

So I am SUPER far behind on canon, and also haven't been reading much of the newer fic, and any of these might change if I catch up, but:

1. Kent Parson/Getting The Fuck Over Jack (Possibly By Being In A Healthy Relationship With Someone Else But Just Getting Down With His Bad Self Is Also Fine)
2. Jack/Bitty (I have many feelings about them as people but I have very little emotional investment in them dating each other in particular. The fic is fine, though.) Runner-up: Ransom/Holster, for when I need the REALLY HEAVY-DUTY comfort.

4. Does Melannen/Check Please Tumblr Kids count? I keep seeing bits of discourse come by my feeds and it scares me. How about Anybody Ever/RL Hockey Bro Culture?

4. Vetinari/Drumknott. I think Vetinari would consider that abusing his position, and I don't think he would. (He saves that for Vimes, who he is pretty sure could and would absolutely take Vetinari down if he ever was convinced it was necessary, especially if Sybil is on his side, which she would be, if Vetinari did something that she considered abuse of his position, and since they haven't, nothing he has done yet is, so it's fine.)

2. Finn/Poe without Rey
3. Han/Leia or Han/Leia/(luke, lando, poe, holdo, etc). Kind of unexpectedly? I used to have a lot of trouble finding good Han/Leia, but the sequel trilogy seems to have kind of made the pairing interesting again (as opposed to, say, the legends version), and there's good stuff there now. Also, Leia/Poe. Phwoar.
4. Rey/Kylo. Bluch. Look if you really need to ship Kylo with somebody he mindraped once, try Poe - I bet they have some interestingly twisted history and they can man-posture at each other when they have bad days.

2. TV!Harry/Bob (Probably would have feelings, but never saw the show)
3. Harry/Enthusiastic, Informed, Free Consent (this is a fandom where "free consent" gets treated as a strange kink that Harry has to slowly learn about, because canon, but also the fanauthors manage to write it as a REALLY HOT kink.)
4. Harry/Anyone From Winter (speaking of things that will never be free consent no matter how much Harry tries to convince himself)
