So that inspired me to type up the politics fic I wrote on Monday,

I actually finished and posted a story! And the Sox might win the series tonight! And there's a full lunar eclipse! And less than a week until we know one way or the other whether the system is worth saving, or we should start hoping for violent revolution and collapse! (Currently I'm undecided.)
On that note, I've finally gotten around to friending two wonderful Republicans whose journals I've been stalking for awhile.

In other news, HOBBITS!
I knew the Red Book was real!
Also, this is scaring the bejeezus out of me right now. (I should probably add that the part freaking me out is not so much that she was investigated, because okay, it's a overly paranoid policy but it's not new. What's freaking me out is that she might be facing consequences and losing some of her rights *just because she was investigated*. And if she could be, so could most of us, if someone decided we deserved it; we've all said stupid things on the record.) (More edit: Also, having read some of the discussion, wouldn't that be a cool job? Or for a character in a story? You get to go around dropping in on everyday, thoughtful people all over the country, many of whom are scared or pissed at you, talk them down, have a nice chat and a cup of tea. If I *needed* another novel idea I'd have one. The warrantless searches are still scary however, as is the no-fly list, as they have always been.)
