[livejournal.com profile] idlerat said to post a bit of Shakespeare which reflects on the current political situation. Since I was at the Rennaissance festival yesterday and we saw the Skum do Henry V, among many other things, I obey:

Yet sit and see; minding true things by what their mockeries be.

(I'm not a Jon Stewart fangirl! Unlike certain other people! I haven't watched the Daily Show for weeks, I swear! I just get my news from teh_jonstewart now.)(hehe. stcrispinsking. yay political fic.)

Oh, and I actually wrote an entire, complete story today! Yay! (It's the election-y xf thing I've been nattering about. My Earth System class was cancelled today after an amusing comedy of errors, so I wrote about the Earth being destroyed instead) I'm currently at the "I hate everything about it, the idea is trite and the execution is bad and I never want to see it again" stage. Plus, it didn't end, it just sort of tattered off. I *could* end it on a sex scene, but I don't particularly *want* to, and besides, they told me they wanted to be alone and just snuggle, and they'd shoot me if I told anyone. So no.

But I'm typing it up anyway. If I'm really going to do NaNoWriMo I need to actually, you know, write stuff. It was fun. I found another set of calligraphy fountain pens and inks at the church bazaar Saturday, so I stole it and started writing with it. Fountain pens are amazing; why does anyone use anything else? Why do *I* ever use anything else?

And I've been watching Stargate again. Whee! Harry and Jack are just like Krycek and Mulder, only older and sexier and less angsty and lacking canonical love interests and therefore more fun. Yay!
