Two things I've learned this morning:

1. The Permian-Triassic event was the only mass extinction in Earth's history that took out insects in large numbers.

2. We need a miniature P-T event in my dorm room.

My roommate's been whacking the floor with her shoe all morning. It's incredibly annoying. Anyone know where I can get a flood basalt bug bomb?

On the plus
side, termite mating season does mean spring is here at last.

Update: My roommate's latest weapon in the termite war is hairspray. *I* don't mind the bugs. What bothers me is that she hasn't even thought about the fact that this stuff that kills termites on contact is something she sprays on her head every day.

I wonder about people sometimes.

Now does it really kill them or does it simply make them stuck in place, to die a slow frozen death...
