I will get people's reading out! Today! I swear!
Doing a good job with posting every day otherwise, aren't in? (In my defense I still kind of believe it's last Tuesday.)
Meanwhile
intoabar, the crossover challenge, is taking signups again. I want to sign up! I missed last time because last time this year I *also* lost entire weeks of duration, but I have done most of them (Even if a lot of them have been ficlets that I never reposted off the comm because I meant to expand them and then never did.)
But I can't decide on fandoms to request this year. I have a couple fandoms I'm sort of into, the one I'm currently really deep into I think I haven't talked about on this journal ever really and I don't think I want to put it into intoabar, so I'm left with way to many 'maybe's a not a lot of yeses.
So, anybody want to give me two fandoms and I'll tell you how I'd cross them over? Any fandom I've talked about on here (including in my 100 days of recs series), any fandom I have AO3 bookmarks for, anything I have marked 'read' in Goodreads or LibraryThing, heck if I follow your journal any fandom *you've* talked about enough that I probably have a clue (Although of course the better I know the fandom the more detailed the scenario will probably be.)

The other option is as a sequel to my ever-researched never-written canon-era AU where Les Amis survive the barricade but end up in prison, from which, a few years later, an also-not-actually-dead-but-also-in-prison Galois recruits Combeferre for an *intensely* steampunk, secret balloon-based one-way moonshot as part of a France/England space race triggered by the not-actually-a-hoax events of the Great Moon Hoax, and of course Combeferre gets his friends recruited too. Upon arrival on said satellite they of course swiftly join in with Moon Rebels to overthrow the Man-Bat royalty of the moon and settle there in a new democratic-socialist-Fourierist utopia.
Anyway that's all backstory to the crossover, because of course eating Moon Food prevents human aging so as soon as their telescopes pick up Mark Watney's surival Les Amis arrive over Mars in a moon-zeppelin to rescue him. He reaction is basically 'sure, this might as well happen'. He introduces disco to Moon society and it's all downhill from there.

(Galois would sign up to join a Fourierist utopia, show up and realize it's the wrong Fourier, and then just roll with it.)

Meanwhile, Jean Valjean is not actually a rogue SecUnit, but Murderbot was absolutely convinced he was for over a week after they mutually rescued each other.
(Javert *is* a SecUnit with a bugged governor module but you would never know he was rogue. Or, generally, ever know he was there.)

Good job, Marius!

Buffy/Always Coming Home, as well, if you have the inclination.

Honestly I probably want to pull a thread I never did anything with in that crossover in a slightly different direction, and write about Lady Alys as a retired Slayer mentoring newly activated Slayers. And probably play around a lot with what Creatures of the Night native to Barrayar and Barrayar's cultural history and alien ecology look like.
Always Coming Home: If you put Sunnydale about as far North as it can reasonably be, it's a couple of weeks' walk south of the Valley (though you could speed the trip up with boats or trains when possible.) It's also probably very, very flooded at this point. I would probably want write a road trip of some people of the Valley going South to trade and/or explore and ending up at the crater and all along the way sharing differing songs and stories with all the peoples along the way about what happened at Sunnydale in the tavkach, and after.
