Not doing too well at "post every day" am I?

The last two Snowflake challenges have been hard and made me want to actually sit and think on them, so I got behind. I have not read any more comics. And also I started playing Minecraft again, possibly related. Also Covid? I think in the last three weeks my covid stress levels have shot back up to where they were in April 2020, along with actual covid levels! Except in April 2020 other people also gave a damn, and -- anyway you all agree with me on all that, just, generally, aaaauuuugh.

And a giant volcano exploded, probably the biggest eruption of that kind since Krakatoa at least? So that's going to be fun. Not to mention all the assorted extra griefs and stresses that seem to be hitting all my friends at once.

But today I cleaned my kitchen! It was wonderful and soothing. Perhaps tomorrow during the storm, I shall bake cookies.

Also there has been a parson spider in my bathtub since this morning. I hope she crawls out tonight! I draped a piece of dirty laundry over the edge in case she needed a hide and/or help climbing, and so far, she has picked hide (she has one tiny cute little leg poking out.) Bathroom spiders are excellent friends.

(I need to get a cat. One who likes to snuggle and also ride on shoulders and also is very talkative and demanding.)

I live on the west coast in the tsunami zone. We had a tsunami advisory (yes, technically we got a tsunami, but it was like 6 inches, never got off the beach).

Some idiots came to watch. If it had been big enough to be worth watching, that would have been INSANELY dangerous.

Bathroom spiders are good, except when they unexpectedly drop on you in the shower. Or camp out in towels. It's best if they are just in a corner, and everyone can be mutually courteous, without any jumpscares or unfortunate spiders getting accidentally smushed or washed down the drain. I once had one nesting right across from my toilet, so for a brief time there were a lot of tiny ones...

The survival rate didn't seem great. Like, I saw tiny ones in that nest, then those were gone one day (not my doing), but there never was a noticable uptick in the spider population.

You cannot have Sinha. ^_- I hope you find a beastie who shares all of his good points, though. (And who is much less work.)

We had a tsunami advisory, and some approximately 30cm tsunamis, here on Vancouver Island. That was a different alert from my Environment Canada weather app to wake up to yesterday morning! Which is a mild but useful reminder that I still need to work on my emergency kit/emergency planning. Cormac and Liz gave me an emergency radio for Christmas, and I should start with that!
