Yes, I am totally going to eventually post the big inauguration post! I'm still working on it! But I keep getting distracted by tangents!
Like, it's an utter travesty that Wikipedia's article on Praise Song is just a blind redirect to contemporary worship music, with not even a mention of the vibrant, ancient, cross-cultural Praise Song as a traditional poetic form. Lose, Wikipedia, lose.
Also, okay, so, it's pretty much consensus that if you're writing SRS feminist gender-swap fic (hahahaha!) male characters don't suddenly get long hair just because they're now girls. But. What do you do if your character has the beginnings of male-pattern baldness? If you're swapping all the secondary sex characteristic, you ought to swap that one too, but if the Magic Genderswap MacGuffin is smart enough to match the new hair to the old haircut, then it ought to be smart enough to create a traditionally-female haircut while it's at it. If it grows new hair to natural length, then it's creating hair out of nothing and might as well grow it all to match. ...I guess the only solution is to swap a butch female character too and have her hair grow waist-length when she's a man. ...this could end badly. (Yes, this is relevant to my inauguration post. I swear.)
