100 days of enemy recs: 72. dueSouth
Due South is not really a fandom that has a huge enemyship vibe. I mean, I guess Fraser/Victoria absolutely is - did anyone ever ship Fraser/Victoria as anything other than the H in the H/C? And some of the rare side character pairings like Thatcher/Welsh kinda went there sometimes I guess? And okay I guess a lot of Ray/Ray and Ray/Ray/Fraser had that really good "two people who get on each other's last nerve have a lot of sex with each other about a third person" thing that I am weak for (...I ...may have just realized that the reason I swing both Rays isn't just lack of patience about the Ray Wars)...
But the real reason this fandom was on the list is that you can't talk about enemyslash without somebody bringing up the Speranza fic where Fraser goes undercover as a criminal, gets amnesia, and has taken over most of the Chicago underworld (and seduced his partner under the misapprehension that they are a star-crossed enemy romance) before anyone manages to convince him that he is not, in fact, a criminal.
So here it is!

I also wrote a fair amount of Fraser/Victoria that did ship them, but I never really gave them a happy ending. Turns out you can do interesting things if both of them are werewolves, for example. I also did one where she changed her mind about halfway through executing her revenge plot.
ETA: I also have a short Victoria Metcalf/Maggie Mackenzie fic which is definitely enemyslash, even though it's anonymous sex. Actually I remember having vague ideas about writing a Victoria/Maggie fic where Victoria came back to go after Fraser, but Maggie like a protective sister went after her instead of letting Fraser do it. Alas, this was never written.

I can definitely see it working as werewolves.

I do think Ray/Ray would be enemy slash for sure. And there is some really haunting Victoria/Fraser fic out there. I read SO MUCH Due South fic and am now kicking myself for not making a rec list for myself. It's one of the fandoms I fell really hard for but hardly wrote for at all. Still not sure why. Usually my response to canons I fall for is to write for them, but not Due South. But Oh How I Love It.

So much of the K/V and F/K/V is enemyship, yeah. (see userpic)
But that fic, yeah. Man, there are some standout classics in that fandom.
I was so deep into the fandom before I watched a single episode, and then Cathexys sat me down and made me watch a couple, and when I was done I turned to her and was like, "... wait, this is canon? I thought this fandom was just really, really, really cracky?" and she just about fell over laughing.
