100 days of enemy recs: 49. Murasaki Shikibu/Sei Shonagon
Murasaki Shikibu and Sei Shonagon were two court ladies of medieval Japan. They were both writers and poets, who have surviving memoirs that are still read today. There is no evidence they ever actually met in real life, but there is some evidence that they were set up as rivals (in absentia) in the court, and it's not like there's a ton of historical rpf f/f enemyslash pairings, okay? And these two are a delight. (I should really get around to reading some of their work.)
