ravelry and unravelry

I've spent the last week feeling like crud, but not cruddy enough to call out sick from work, but cruddy enough to just curl up in a ball once I am home from work, so that's fun all around. Spent the long weekend taking pills every four hours and napping a lot.

While mostly dead I've also done a lot of crocheting on the scrap yarn afghan I got mostly finished several years ago before I ran out of scrap yarn (apparently that's possible if you spend a few years doing *only* scrap yarn projects, who knew) but a friend who just went into assisted living donated me a bagful of small balls, so now I have enough.

ANYWAY the culmination of this epic story is that I was thinking about what afghan I wanted to start next (one always needs at least one afghan in progress, but this one has been around so long I got out of the habit) and I finally caved and got a Ravelry account, because I have been doing a pretty good job lately of only starting new fiber projects once I finish old ones. If anyone wants a Ravelry friend I am on there as commensally.

I don't know enough about it yet to know how to do much. I have bookmarked some possible patterns for the new afghan (none of my previous scrap yarn projects used variegated, so I have a lot of that and I'm thinking some kind of stained-glass-ish thing with variegated panels). And I added my knitting and crochet books to my library, because obviously that is the first most important thing! There were some it didn't find, though, is it possible to add books/pamphlets it doesn't have? There must be a way but I haven't found it yet. And I will not be cataloging my stash, because probably 75% of my stash (90% if you don't count the lopi) is unidentified possibly unidentifiable, and that just sounds frustrating. I will probably add WIPs/goals at some point, but first I'm going to finish this afghan!

(Also I'm still under goodreads on the same name if anyone wants more goodreads friends, though I mostly just log my reading these days.)

I’m tacytak on that site, but the only thing I do with my account is find patterns. The rest of it just seems like too much work.
