mea culpa
...so, um. Yeah. I should have known better than to set up a Sort that was set up to disagree *specifically* with everyone who already had a VERY STRONG OPINION that they felt VERY STRONGLY was SELF-EVIDENTLY CORRECT about their House. I did not,,, think that through when I came up with that simplification of my own long-standing sorting opinions in the bath last week. I still think it's a valid reading of canon, but, you know, people have had twenty years to get very set in their own readings of canon. And it is never, ever a good idea to tell people that their personal experiences of themselves are incorrect (a thing I did already know, just had not thought to connect to Hogwarts sorting, because I don't always think,) You all are whatever House you think you are, as you all already know - we *don't*, after all, live in a world with a real Sorting Hat.
Anyway, given that it *is* a bad idea to argue with people about their own experiences of their own identities, but I know that I am sometimes very bad at not doing that, and also I am in a weird itchy place anyway because of next Tuesday and weird stuff at work, and sleep is a thing I should do, I muted notifications on that post yesterday.
If there's something going on there that needs a heavy moderator hand on the comment freezing/deleting, somebody ping me via a different post; otherwise I will not see it.
