1. Have you ever had the experience where you get your yuletide assignment, you think "oh no, why did I offer that, this is worst-case", then "wait, I think I know what I'm going to write," then "this is such a perfect prompt for me that I'm pretty sure everyone will immediately know who wrote it" in the course of about five minutes? Because that happened.

2. Final to-do list postmortem:
I got all but one of the highest-priority things done, and exactly half of the high, and a few of the medium, which is just about what I thought I would do! Hurrah! That sill leaves 1 highest-priority, 10 high-priority, and nearly all the rest, but c'est la vie.
Also I do still have baskets of: art & craft supplies; electronics; clothes in need of mending; useless knick-knackery; paperwork; and assorted-that-I-was-to-tired-to-deal-with to deal with. But I have high hopes for this weekend!
In terms of testing out a routine if I wasn't working every day: on the downside, I did not manage to do most of the things on my routine list every day. I also somehow had something major I needed to do outside the house every single day, despite trying to keep the week clear, which made it tough. Upside, I did manage "take a long walk" and "write a dreamwidth post" every day - and I didn't have any days which were entirely lost to staring at a screen and Not Doing Things, which is what I was mostly afraid of.

3. I kinda want to go see Venom this weekend. It sounds like gooey fun, the problem is ever since they started showing up on Pinboard, this has been stuck in my head:

In my experience, "what would not working every day look like" is very hard to test in a week. You had a very high backlog, so you were powering through a ton of items on your to-do list.

After a few months of having more time to yourself, that would change.

Man, that song is ear-worming enough just in print.

Well, I don't ever not have a high backlog, is the thing! When I was underemployed there was a lot of too depressed/executive dysfunctioned to do anything for weeks to make the backlog instead, I was trying to test if that was due to not having any set schedule, or due to other situational/brain stuff. But yeah, I don't think a week was enough to test that either (it did teach me that a week off quickly fills up with out-of-house errands - most of which weren't even backlogged - unless I make a major effort not to.) I think I would make a much better unemployed person now though, I'm more settled in myself.

.. All it takes is me seeing the phrase "Venom and Eddie" in print and it goes on its own! Augh.

See, you're actually saving me from my Venom earworm, which is the Eddie song from Rocky Horror. Which I have been stuck with pretty much since they started advertising the movie...

Luckily for me I don't know Rocky Horror well enough to get that earworm! (Am I allowed to confess I'm still a virgin? I know a couple of the hit songs and the main characters and that's about it.)

"'75" doesn't work, and I think Venom and Eddie lasted a lot longer before the first big divorce, but yeah, otherwise, it's one of those that's hard to filk because there's not much to change. :P
