FREE BOOKS

So, we have recently cleaned out our book collection, and as a result, there are a whole *ton* of books I am getting rid of: lots of older SF particularly, but also some general fiction and some non-fiction.

If anybody on my flist wants any, I will send them to you for the shipping costs (if the shipping turns out to be <$1, like for one paperback, or I can just give them to you in person, it will be free.)

Claim them in a comment here, and then I'll get in touch to get your address and confirm your claims.

I'm not guaranteeing condition, and it's first come first serve 'cause I'm also offering these in a couple other places.

Everything tagged _togoaway in my LibraryThing account is going.
LINK TO LIST OF FREE BOOKS.
(There are ~650 books up for grabs, but you can sort the list by any of the columns to make it easier.)

Also up for grabs is what's going from my Dad's collection, here, another 215, mostly non-fiction. Same procedure.

ETA: Time out. Okay, the site I was going to use for this is currently having major issues, so there will be a new give-away post when I figure out a new way to post the list. Feel free to use this one meanwhile if it works for you.

lol at your "embedded media" tag.

why lol? It was very useful when my school webspace went down, let me tell you.

[identity profile] stellar_dust [journalfen.net] 2008-10-29 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
lol because "links to LT" is not the usual definition of "embedded media"!

.. also, link to Dad's books is not working?

Is major integrated part of entry that will be fail if outside host dies! That counts.

I tagged everything here yesterday and am mostly lolling that top five tags are 1) bunnies, 2) dw, 3) meta, 4) embedded media, and 5) crossovers. Oh hooray for my brain!

...link to Dad's books working for me? LT is being semi-broked today though; is it just not loading or something?

[identity profile] stellar_dust [journalfen.net] 2008-10-29 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
First link actually goes to MY LT, and should be this instead? http://www.librarything.com/catalog.php?view=melannen&tag=_togoaway&shelf=list&sort=stamp

Second link goes to an empty library page.

[identity profile] stellar_dust [journalfen.net] 2008-10-29 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
... second link suddenly decided to work. hrm.

But it stopped working for me. Bizarre.

Do they work now? Have changed the format.

(also, LT is very broke right now. Of course it would pick the day I want to do this to broke itself. Bah.)

[identity profile] stellar_dust [journalfen.net] 2008-10-29 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
The first one seems to work now (although, we DID keep one set of Amber, right???)

The second one is now going to *my* LT. When I change it from view=stellar_dust to popscotch, it is now NOT working again.

headdesk.

[identity profile] stellar_dust [journalfen.net] 2008-10-29 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
... I suspect it is LT being broked.

alright, I went through and re-tagged, so the second link should be working exactly the same as the first. I hope.

...it's all irrelevant anyway, since LT is currently locking out non-members. shah, stupid Google. I should probably figure out how to generate an offline version of the list.

Oh, and I have amber in paperback and ebook; don't you have a full omnibus of your own?

[identity profile] stellar_dust [journalfen.net] 2008-10-29 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't think I do. nnnnnggggggggggggdo I want to keep a set?

BLARG INDECISION.

... ok, it was a pain to find both omnibuses, iirc, so .. I guess keep me a full set?

this is bad news, sister, bad bad news, as now I must look through the entire thing and second-guess all my decisions to toss stuff. D:

No, sister, don't! ...Save yourself!

I'm not actually sure we have both the omnibusses; one or the other always seems to be missing when I read the shelves, but it was never the *same* one, so perhaps they are magic.

I could just send you the pirate e-books? :D

Also: have just realized I didn't think this through; can I let people send shipping money to your paypal if they want to do paypal, and if so can you e-mail me (by tonight) any relevant stuff they'd need to know to do that?

[identity profile] stellar_dust [journalfen.net] 2008-10-29 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
The Corwin books are the best anyway, so w/e. If you can find both omnis, I'll take; otherwise ebooks will suffice I suppose.

Sure! I think all they need to know to send me $$ through PayPal is my email address - the gmail one.

... & you know you can estimate shipping on usps.com if you have a relatively accurate scale sitting around, right?

[identity profile] stellar_dust [journalfen.net] 2008-10-30 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
(Also - you mean "if the shipping turns out to be <$1", right?)

...yes. Or rather no ,but I see what you were going for.

I need to dig them out first, but yes, I know how to do that.

[identity profile] stellar_dust [journalfen.net] 2008-10-30 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
... oh look, another issue! :D

It looks like the books I sent to Ro from Dad's set need to get untagged?

There's a few scattered here&there through all of it that've already gone various places; I'm not going to go digging through again (though if you want to in dad's set, feel free.) I figure if people claims ones that I can't find in the boxes, I'll just tell 'em sorry.

Huh. Have just checked, and am missing a couple paperbacks.

But the omnibuses only cover the Corwin books, btw, so is still not full set, even if they're both there.
