Here is a picture of my toes, as my entry for
siegeofangels's Nail Polish Challenge (because I, too, possess a large box full of little bottles colored of lacquer which I will never use up).
The theme this week was Song Lyrics. You guys get to guess the lyric (hint: it will not be hard; it is one of the lyrics that's been stuck in my head for weeks...)

Colors: some black I pulled out of the half-off bin at a dollar store when I realized I didn't have any black; two different reds (layered, because the first one wasn't coming out saturated enough) which have been in the box so long I don't remember where they came from; a bronzey-gold originally from bath & body works that I inherited when I friend cleared out her collection.
Also, I posted at
kink_finders asking for fanfic about queer culture and queer history and got lots of excellent recs! So many in fact that, with my own stash of bookmarks, I am thinking of doing a recs set/compilation post/something. Anybody who isn't on that community have any more recs for me on the theme? :D (also, you should all go follow that community, it is a favorite.)
(also, the "queer history" tag on AO3 really ought to be canonized, unless there's an existing canon tag it should be linked to that I haven't found yet. When I get a couple of hours to wrangle I am going to be looking into that and related tags.)

Nonfiction and fiction
Conduct Unbecoming is definitely good, but there's not a lot of WWII stuff IIRC.
This article is about lesbians and is pretty interesting. Awesome bibliography.
This only touches on gay culture but it does deal with homophobia and is set in the 1970s: Yami No Matsuei reincarnation series by threewalls.
Men Like Us is a Sherlock Holmes story, about the repercussions of the Wilde trial.
Flaming is Tiger & Bunny, set in a fantasy world but an analogous one (they wanted the story set in a NYC-type city).

I. Must. Read. It. All.
