I spend all evening making icons in order to give myself some time off for perspective, and now LJ won't even let me load icons?

Tonight, LJ, you dine in FAIL.

(They are Tek Jansen icons, and they are excellent. I think TJ is my new fandom of happy.)

Anyway, I haven't been doing much since getting home from the vacation except for messing on the internets, messing with books, and vegetating. (Oh, and writing a resume hahaha.) I was thinking about using today to make a trip-recap post, but instead I spent it backing up my ljs and working on a JF layout - I'm afraid I'm going to wait on the vacation recap (which I'm sure you're all holding your breaths for - 1500 photos, guys!) until I've figured out a photo host I trust more than Scrapbook, or just cave and buy my own webspace from somewhere. On the upside, I've needed to re-organize my web presence for years, so maybe I'll finally get it done.

For now, I'm going to be posting nearly everything I post at jf (not that I've been posting all that much lately anyway...) I'll keep my journal archive up here for the time being, and I'll keep reading my flist and commenting as usual, at least until my paid account runs out, because I care about you guys more than I care about corporate autocracy, but I won't be posting anything but srs business, and I'll be moving content off. Anyone who wants a jf account: offer's still open. I'll also be watching gj and ij, if anyone's moved there that I don't have friended yet, let me know. (anyone want to offer me a deadjournal code? ;)

(Oh, and I also sorted out all of my self-sufficiency wilderness survival books and re-packed my go-bag, but that has more to do with watching Keith Olbermann last night than with lj's asshattery. Not that it *helped*.)

Yay! I wish more of my lj people were there, but I just can't bring myself to move to a site that depends on ad revenue. :(

Let me know whenever you want an account (and account name and e-mail.) Also, there is now leavin_eljay where several people are taking care of journalfen invites, if you want to spread it around.

I think I'll make souping up the photo gallery on katycat.net my first priority, actually - it's just so much *easier* to use the lj interface, wahhh! And when I do that I'll see about making you an account on there?

I *really* need to fix up my entire website, anyway; I feel like I haven't been getting my money's worth recently. d-:

Yay! An account on there would be sweet! (To start with, I'd finally have a place to host those audio files ...) I'd just have to learn to use it. umm.

There are a bunch of tek icons (+bases) at the bottom of my journalfen icons page (http://www.journalfen.net/allpics.bml?user=melannen) now, including cat-schnoogling! Feel free to steal any you want! (although I kind of want to keep redheaded commander to myself now...) (I'm probably going to make a share post later, but there's *so much* iconnable stuff in this book. And it's only 1/5!)

I'm on GJ and IJ and JF, but I'm looking for consensus before I go. I've got a permanent account and a ton of RL friends here, so it's not like I'm going anywhere completely. Backing up, though -- I've written Xander/Oz in high school, which is HORRIFYING PEDOPHILA as we all know.

I'm not really thinking, at this point, that there will be any consensus until there's a new fan-based system (with newer, more fandom-specific, code than jf) like everyone's talking about, or maybe fanarchive - I think a lot of the people moving, including me, are now thinking of it as a stopover to get away from lj just until fandom finds the Next New Thing, because none of the alternatives are really satisfactory, even if you ignore the community factor.

I know! I just found an old fic post where two underage HP characters talk about birth control! What do you think - am I trying to entice minors into sex? O.O
