and me without a spoon.
In the parking lot at the train station today there was a very dead, flat, dry frog. It was the largest frog I have ever seen in the flesh - nearly a foot long, counting its legs splayed out behind it. I prodded it over onto its stomach with one foot and it was still wet underneath. Wet and *wriggling*. I'd read the description many times in books, but never have I seen before a dead thing that was so full of maggots that it seemed still alive - more than alive, bursting and crawling with it, writhing under the flesh, little white curls of it squirting out and rippling over the concrete below.
It was cool.
Oh, and speaking of death and writhing masses, as a reward for not committing jigai at my stat exam this afternoon, I bought myself a con.txt membership. So, I guess I'm going to con.txt. Happy birthday me!
Actually, now that I can look farther into the future than monday. 1:30. doom. again, I should probably figure out my schedule for the summer. Let's see:
Also! How could I forget! May 23: Boston Legal DVDs appear at sister's apartment. I find some way to watch them all with her. In one sitting, preferably.
May 26-29: Balticon. Also the church Strawberry Festival, which I'm committed to helping with. And, I think, the last day of Sunday School.
June 2 - June 4: Wizard World in Philadelphia.
stellar_dust is apparently going to this, just so she can get a Daniel to snuggle with her new Jack. I'll have to think about it.
June 5 - July 14: Summer Term 1 - will have classes at least three days a week.
June 6: Last day of substitute teaching for the year.
June 16 - June 18: Con.txt, Silver Spring. Am apparently going, as have bought membership. I should probably have made sure Mom didn't have any other plans for me first. Oh well. I'll probably drive after school and sleep at home, unless I can get a *really* cheap share of a hotel room or somebody within public transit distance of the hotel will let me crash for two nights. (hmm. Do I know anyone in Silver Spring?)
Weekend of June 24: Mom and sister will be in Texas; am apparently apartment-sitting Sister's cat.
July 17 - August 25: Summer Term 2 - also probably several days' classes. Hopefully, at some time soon after this, I will graduate. Then, I have no clue.
August 4 - August 6: Otakon, Baltimore. I think I'm still going to this with the rest of the Justice League, unless plans change, for at least one day.
Then there's the National Book Festival in September and Capclave in October. ETA: And the Baltimore Book Festival right in between, which I keep meaning to get to. And SPX, if I want something *every* week in there. *g*
And there should probably be something about getting a job and stuff in there too, but, ehh, why worry?
Also, I'm now one of the top 50 taggers on LibraryThing!

Which is actually much better than I was expecting when I walked in; I was expecting to walk out knowing for sure that I'd flunked. So, hey!
