zamochit posted sexy pictures of her typewriter yesterday. Mine's not quite as svelte, but she's been through a lot, and she deserves to be shown off:

Mmm, the smell of ink and WD-40. (And that's real onionskin paper we found when we were cleaning out the attic.) However, either I've forgotten something real important, or the tab stops are jammed, so I haven't been using it much lately. And the top of the case is shoved under the desk istead of keeping the dust out like it should be. (I don't have a new haircut to show off, either. I really ought to get on that.)

I spent most of the day trying to wedge my Christmas presents into my room. And while I was at it, I messed with my LibraryThing account. It currently has all the new books we got for Christmas, about half of my library of magical/paranormal/mythical books, and all the books that I found while cleaning today. I'm also going to try to eventually post one-paragraph reviews of all the ones I've read recently enough to remember - you can see all my reviews so far here (and even syndicate them to your flist if you so desire!)

Let's see - I watched the new SciFiFri yesterday. I can't believe CSM died! Nooo! You should have stayed home with Fox and Sam. ): And we need more Jack. We need mini!Jack to show up and claim Orlin is his little brother and steal him away and take him on a tour of the delights of Earth, featuring ferris wheels very heavily. Yes.

Atlantis was neat. I wasn't *quite* spoiled - that is, I knew generalities about what we'd find out in the episode, but no specifics as to what would actually happen. Rodney was *awesome*. The stuff on the Wraith ship was pretty cool, too; not just the new info about the Wraith, but the way they've all gotten so comfy on hive ships that they practically feel at home. And we now have official confirmation that Liz is a better strategist than Caldwell.

BSG was pretty cool, but I'm still ... not very fond of how slowly it moves and how shaky the "plot" actually is. I mean, I love all the characters, and I usually enjoy it while watching it unless something more interesting is happening elsewhere, but it's really too soapy for me. The weaponless dogfight and the way the two sides seamlessy became one when the Cylons showed up was one of the more *awesome* space sequences I've ever watched, though.

I caught Bones on Tuesday - actually Mom taped it while I was in class. Thanks Mom! This was a fairly early re-run, I think. Interesting. I don't know if I'd still be watching this show if not for stellar_dust - it hasn't totally grabbed me, and I know if I learn to like it I'm in danger of falling into the CSI/L&O trap - but it's still fun. I haven't seen any more Boston Legal; something keeps conspiring against me, and I really should watch more than 1.5 episodes before I try to write crack!fic. (Maybe that's why I'm feeling conspired against ...) On the other hand, I just learned that it's set in the Ally McBeal 'verse, which is making me go a little queasy.

Haven't been watching much House, either - no new eps, and I've now seen all the old ones at least twice. And not enough good new fic to keep me in the mindset, either. I keep thinking I should try to write something, but I keep getting stuck on repeat with House saying "You're just enough of a bastard to be worth liking, Dr. Wilson," and Wilson replying, "Yeah? Well, remember, I'll always know that deep down inside, you're actually a good guy." Where exactly to I go from there? (Actually, what I *really* want is House/Wilson set while House is living with Stacy. The fandom needs more past!fic in general.)
