August 6th, 2015 02:12 pm - also I am writing v. v. cracky fic so that's good
I am done with my Month of Ridiculous Travel! Back to the real world!

..for versions of "Real world" that mean "so the A/C blew out at work and they keep having to send us home early because the building is uninhabitable". Yay.

Anyway it was all super-fun and I am super-glad to be able to spend a couple weekends actually at home with no travel-prep stress and so on, it'll be great, cats will sit on me a lot. Unfortunately work seems to have completely fallen apart while I was gone but lala I don't care. Meanwhile I am all caught up on DW and email and mostly caught up on Tumblr. (Less because Tumblr has more content than DW, more because Tumblr is so broken that scrolling back that far with the extensions that make it usable literally involves spending over five hours doing nothing but scrolling down and waiting for stuff to load, I am timing it.)

(I didn't actually sit there for five hours, I put a throwing knife on the space bar to hold it down.)

(You know you've just come back from an SCA event when your bag is full of milk casein roving and steel throwing knives.)

Also I came back to only one library book checked out, nothing on hold, and less than thirty things on my to-read list (and less than thirty to-dos on habitrpg)? MADNESS. With Hugo voting and all the fests and classes I was signed up for over, I am now left all on my own to pick my novel(s) for August! I think it will be Rootless, Uprooted, and The Forest of Hands and Teeth because I have no idea if they have anything in common but I keep getting them confused with each other.

Anyway, with having a lot of time last week to do crafting/sewing (and a lot of encouragement!) and my schedule getting a little cleaner, I have decided to implement Sunday Night Movie Night, wherein I pick a random drawer in the DVD cabinet at work and spend at least two hours watching the first thing I find in there that I've been meaning to watch, while doing crafts. If there is nothing in that drawer that I want to have watched, I have to write porn instead.

Hopefully this will become a thing! This week the random number was 6 and that meant it was non-r-rated movies starting with S, and I have Song of the Sea (and The Secret of Roan Inish because it was also right there so why not.)
