Power did not go out here! Everything is fine - around here we got no worse than a typical tropical storm, if a bit longer-lasting, and the derecho brought down so much deadwood six monthe ago that there's hardly even any branches down. I think the creek did flood but by mid-morning it was down to muddy-but-normal, and everyone *around* us lost power, but it seems to have been mostly people who were in range of the storm surge who were really screwed.

To those of you who were: good luck and you're in my thoughts.

Anyway I took the two days of everything-cancelled as an excuse to be a lump. Probably not a bad idea, as much as I'd like to have accomplished something more substantial, as they've extended hours for the rest of early voting and I'll be working probably sixteen hour days (or longer) the rest of the week. So, uh, this is me logging off for awhile again.
