I've come to realize over the past few days that I will never truly comprehend the extent to which the Syndicate's elaborate brainwashing course, to which I was subjected as a small child, has warped my life and skewed my perceptions. That small group of men and women toiling in dark rooms, their names hidden, their contributions a highly guarded secret, have changed the course of American society in innumerable ways ...

(The Stratemeyer Syndicate, that is.)

So, the other day, I was cruising around LibraryThing.com, and I noticed that somebody from Singapore by the name of Mithril had snuck in and entered twice as many Bobbsey Twins books as I had. And to add insult to injury, he went through and rated them all 1/5 stars, single-handedly propelling Laura Lee Hope onto the front page as one of the site's lowest-rated authors.

This is not to be borne. I challenged him to a duel last week, which the coward man has avoided responding to by the crafty stratagem of not having logged in since then in order to see it. But! I shall not rest! This weekend I went through my Bobbsey Twins entries and got them in spit-n-polish condition in preparation for the coming war.

(Somehow, I find it not at all suprising that my first ever fandom was one with over a hundred years of history, three-and-a-half formal reboots, and continuity? What continuity? You think Marvel Time is confusing, try to figure out when Nan and Bert turned 9.)

So, yes. This is what my whole catalog will look like someday. Accurate and pretty and neat and fully filled out. Except with every book marked "read" and also reviewed, of course. :D

Nobody let me near a used book sale any time soon, please.
