I have just discovered that unbaked homemade chocolate-chip cookies look like shoggoths. The amorphous, cibarious blobs, oozing with mysterious saporous fluids, the tortuous lixiviation of their tendrilous masses as the tenebrous dark orbs of the yet indurate chocolate glare out from the oleaginous depths, nitidous in their heteroclite spargefaction.

On a completely unrelated note, is anyone else of the opinion that most easily accessible online thesauri are utter *crap*? They seem to have the vocabulary of about a ten-year-old. There doesn't seem to be *anything* that even approaches my trusty 1946 Roget's for usefulness or comprehensiveness. And that's a crying shame; you'd think a thesaurus would transfer wonderfully well to computer, and yet! Nothing! 'nitidous synonym' gets me absolutely 0 relevant results on Google!
ETA: Spargefaction got me to a couple of searchable interfaces with Gutenberg's 1911 copy of Roget's, with is better than nothing, but I am still disappointed in you, internet!

On another completely unrelated note, I made five dozen pumpkin-dark-chocolate-chip cookies today.
