February 6th, 2005 02:07 am - One Day In Fic
So, I was going to post about all the fun stuff I've done this weekend, but ... maybe tomorrow. First I wanted to close all the open Opera tabs. They were open because yesterday I decided to leave open all the fic I read in twenty-four hours, just so I could see how much there was. And ... yeah, there was a lot. And in my ongoing effort to be less lurky, I'm going to link them all here with brief review thingys.

But keep in mind that of that twenty-four hours, I spent ten hours sleeping and ten doing actual social life stuff, and read some x-files comics, and got caught up on my reading for Archeology, and played with some fanart, so it's not really *that* much fic.

Abominable: [livejournal.com profile] wisdomeagle : AtS/BSC, Fred/Janine, PG-13 )

In the mood to lose my way: [livejournal.com profile] thete1 : DC Animated, Richie Foley, Slash, PG-13 )

[livejournal.com profile] daegaer's Drabbles of Wrongness: Weiss Kreuz, PG-13, basically gen )

Connections : [livejournal.com profile] siviusx : DC comics, Tim/Cissie, NC-17 )

Because of Who You Are : [livejournal.com profile] amanuensis1 : Harry Potter, Harry/Hermione, NC-17 )

Without a Cape : [livejournal.com profile] amanuensis1 : Incredibles/24, Mirage/Jack Bauer, NC-17 )

A Small Cat : [livejournal.com profile] sister_wolf : DC comics, Teen Titans, gen )

Inheritance : [livejournal.com profile] petronelle : DC Comics, Batman/Robin, NC-17 )

All the Skin You're Missing : [livejournal.com profile] 3jane : DC Comics, Dick/Tim, NC-17 )

Shooting Stars Down : [livejournal.com profile] minervasolo : G )

More Than Memory : [livejournal.com profile] harriet_spy : AtS, gen )

Five Deaths : [livejournal.com profile] guede_mazaka : PotC, PG-13, Will )

Toronto and sequels : Tangerine : X-Men comics, Angel/Northstar, NC-17 )

The Way I Wield You : [livejournal.com profile] __marcelo : DC comics, Barbara/Tim, NC-17 (but really closer to pale R) )

Moldy Warts : [livejournal.com profile] obsessed1 : BtvS/HP, Dawn, Giles )

The Arrangement : [livejournal.com profile] tea_and_snark : Hornblower / Po'B / Good Omens )

And that's it for the ones I finished. Two longer ones-- La Cancion de Las Pistoleras, OUaTiM, Sands/El, and Psychedelic Butterfly, BtVS, Spike/Dru-- are still sitting open on my browser. The Sands one is okay, but not quite as sharp and bleeding as I really like my Sands, but it's got very good pointy bits, too. The Buffy one is starting slow, but I think I'll stick it out for the promise of Ripper and Ethan meeting Spike/Dru.

So, what have we learned? I read a lot of fic. In a lot of fandoms (but mostly Batman). With a lot of sex. But it's not my fault that people write mostly sex in the places I go looking! Also, this took me *way* too long to write up, longer than I want to admit, longer than it took me to read all the fics put together, so I now have *quantitative* data to support why I almost never get around to giving feedback...

February 6th, 2005 06:04 pm - lift you up in the middle of the night
Last night I dreamed that alien invaders were destroying the world. I have end-of-the-world dreams fairly often, mind, and they're usually quite fun and heartwarming; this one was pretty typical, though most of the details have blurred over already-- me accidently doing undercover-secret agent work and getting in over my head, end-of-the-world-sex in refugee camps, cameos by old acquaintances and random internet people, cute animals that miraculously survive, my old high school getting blown up (which happens in every one of these dreams, for some reason,). The thing about this one, though, is that I'm fairly sure the aliens were the same ones as in The Book of Zogg, which scares even me a little.

And on a similar note, I've been watching the Teen Titans cartoon every once in a while, and while the animation's a bit, yeah, right, and the plots can get silly even for a kids' cartoon, the voice actors are niice, especially some of the ones they got for recurring minor characters. But it probably shouldn't have suprised me as much as it did to discover that the one character I fell *completely* in love with at his first line ... is voiced by Wil Wheaton.

Also, the next comment on this journal will be number 2,000, and if that comment includes something for me to draw, I will draw it for them. Yay!
