normally I would dump this in [livejournal.com profile] evil_plotbunnie, but sleep-dep make

My birthday is on Monday. I can't be that old already, having accomplished exactly *nothing* in my life, and I don't particularly want any presents or celebration either, because a) I don't actually bother to celebrate anybody else's birthday and b) I have more than enough junk and not enough time. Also I *still* haven't spent my Christmas Amazon money.

Oh, that's what Katy can get me! She can tell me *exactly* what I'm going to spend that fifty dollars on!

I know what Mom's gotten me. She said that was all she was getting me, and the yayness of the first part balances out the ughness of the second, so that's all good.

But you know what I really want right now? SG1 kidfic. There's hardly *any*, SG1 fandom in general is oddly low on the crack. This may be because the *canon* provides everything from bodyswitching to sex pollen to "naked white singing mimes," as the handbook has it, but to my mind that just gives us an excuse to take things a step further. So, it's not just babyfic I've been craving, it's happy sugary kidfic with hybrid children. There's *plenty* of *completely canonical* ways to do this, too. There's the Jack/Thor I'm slowly working on (Jack comes home to find Loki sitting gingerly on his couch. "Oh no, you are not doing any more *unauthorized experiments* with my genetic material--" "Well, not any more--" pause. "Is that a *baby crying* in my bedroom?" *wails* "Why did nobody *tell* me that Tau'ri develop an independent personality well before reaching physical maturation? Also, I find myself unavoidably needing to be elsewhere for the next twenty years, so I will leave it up to you to tell Thor that I used his genetic material also.") There's the Moebius-verse thing I'm working at (Where alt!Teal'c talks his mature symbiote around and it blends with alt!Carter and takes the name Shol'va in his memory and works for good.) There's RepliCarter, and the possiblity of other little RepliCarters left behind in Ida.

And for ages I've wanted to see the story where the SGC gets an out-of-date SG1 IDC with a request to send Dr. Jackson through, and on the other side of the gate there's a young, handsome, *absurdly* earnest Goa'uld, who says he wants to help the Tau'ri defeat the System Lords. And when Daniel asks him how, and why, he says because he wants to be like his father. Oh, by the way, Hi, Dad, I've heard a lot about you.

Because it turns out that Hathor got a few of her spawn by Daniel safely hidden in Jaffa offworld before she was killed. And Goa'uld queens can decide how much of the genetic memory of their ancestors they can pass on to their offspring. And it turns out that this applies to the non-Goa'uld genetic donor as well. And since Hathor was totally inappropriately obsessed with Daniel (Dude, tricking out an alien planet to exactly mimic the place where you met- obsessive) she gave some of the kids a little too much of Daniel. Like, *all* of his memories up through when they met. And hey, he's half-Daniel (s1 Daniel, at that), so he's too curious for his own good, has no sense of self-preservation, and firmly believes that you can solve any problem if you just make friends with it hard enough. And he was raised well away from the influence of the System Lords' society. So he wants to get to know his father and learn about the other half of his heritage.

Right. As soon as Daniel is capable of rational thought again, they drag the young Goa'uld (let's call him Ihy, just for kicks) back through the Stargate, if only because his inherited memories pose a security risk. And he's extremely annoying and has a seriously skewed sense of morality, but he's trying so *very* hard, and every time the General is about ready to ship Ihy off to Area 51 and a cage in a lab, he does something that reminds them all too much of Daniel.

And then Shifu shows up. Because Ihy still has all the Goa'uld genetic memory, too, of course, and Shifu, having been brainwashed by Oma, believes that no good guy can handle that and stay sane. Ihy loves his mother and refuses to believe that. They spend the next few weeks snarking at each other about philosophy and morality and ethics and parasitism and Ascension in a way that would be either cute or slashy if it wasn't so *incredibly disturbing*. (Plus there's this vaguely Oedipal element of it in which they're both just really vying for Daniel's attention, but we're not going to get into that. Seriously, we're not. Daniel "accidently" zatted the General the last time he brought it up.) And they only almost destroy Stargate Command twice; after the second time he lets his temper get away from him, Shifu apologizes and zaps them both to a deserted planet somewhere. Where apparently they eventually reach some sort of compromise about genetic memory, the necessity for repression of; and Ascension, and its similarity to putting one's fingers in one's ears and humming really loudly; and the taking of unwilling hosts, and how that is just not on. Because when they come back through the gate two months later, Shifu has de-Ascended, and Ihy has blended with him, Tok'Ra style.

Which means that Daniel and Sha're finally have a kid together! And it's so terribly romantic and sweet and happy! Or something, anyway. And Ihy/Shifu is about ten times as annoying and insufferable as either of them were by themselves, but at least now they can pawn them off on Anise/Freya and the Tok'Ra for fostering! So it's a happy ending all around!

And, oh my god! This story *almost* exists already! Only that one's AU and J/D and dark rather than cracky and has no Shifu, but, still, it is awesome. How did I miss it?

So this morning already I have learned that googling "Hathor Ihy" gets you Jack/Daniel/Hathor fic, and googling "Liquamen Ketchup" gets you Methos/Mulder fic. Who says fandom isn't educational?

Bah! You people (defined as you, 2 people from old-job, and my uncle) don't give us enough time to not-get presents for y'all, so you'll have to suffer through one anyway! XD [It'll be sent to house, though; and probably Tuesday(cursed UPS's!)]
