When the topic in Archeology discussion is "Why did Neandertals learn to bury their dead before modern humans did?" and you have to keep biting your tongue so as not to blurt out "Because the First Slayer was Neandertal, of course!"

I once started a fic about the beginning of vampires with Homo erectus, noting that the reason Neanderthals died out was something about how the brow ridges made it harder to tell when they were vampires.
