Crean la mentira

School's come back well enough. The first Spanish homework was about El Mariachi and Expediente X: Enfréntate al futuro q: We starting going over MLA style in 393 this morning, and I was the only one with the same edition of the style manual as the professor, because I got last year's edition cheap off the discount rack. And in sed/strat I was the only person to bring a hand lens to lecture. So, yayness.

I was really, really blah-depressed-inertially-advantaged yesterday, and then I got my period and was so happy I could blame my mood on that. Plus it always cheers me up anyway that at least I can ovulate properly, even if everything else is going wrong.
----random fun fact: there seems to be more menstruation!fic in x-files than anywhere, which I suppose makes sense. it just scares me that most of it is from Mulder's POV.

Also, news article, from somewhere on the flist. I figured that out with just *logic* when I was about six. Also, chewing on random toy parts is good for the teeth, and bathing infrequently reduces likelihood of most skin irritations. q:

And a random HP question: My total knowledge of the lifestyle of orphans in 1940's London comes from vague memories of Searching for Shona. So, on the off-chance that anyone here knows more about that: *Would* they have attempted to evacuate Tom to the countryside during the War, the way they did the orphans in that novel? I've never seen that addressed in fic or discussion, but I was noodling about with a scene between Tom and Harry and the question came up.

(Googling "crean la mentira" brings up lots of cites for 2 Thessalonians 2:11. And I had "The Red and the Black" on this afternoon while doing a lab. "He will come with his mighty angels, in flaming fire, bringing judgement." *giggle*. The Bible is such a fun book.)

I'm afraid I can't say, I very rarely indulge in jossverse fic. Actually-- I can't recall having read *any* jossverse het, that might explain it.

Menstrual blood is a lot thinner than regular blood, isn't it? Plus it's got all those . . . hormones and fleshy bits in it. I can't imagine it would be good for a vampire, nutritionally. Although, I can imagine it making him grow breasts if he did that too often. q:

Darn it, now I *want* to read one of those.

it's been years since i read any, but i always enjoyed them :-) i guess it was simply the blood for free idea...or the i'm icky but you don't care b/c you're a vamp :-)

now i'm having spike with breasts permanently stuck in my mind. LOL

Hey, I have a kink for sex-during-menstruation stories even if there *aren't* vampires involved! I just think they'd need to be *very careful* 'cause moon-blood has a completely different magic than regular blood. Then again, Jossverse vamps are the wussy kind that can make do with blood banks and animals, aren't they?

(Mind you, I once wrote about a vamp who makes do with the wine of the Eucharist, so I have no room to talk. *cough*)

Yes! Yes! A Spuffy fic where they're in a sickeningly fluffy relationship that involves blood-licking and then Spike discovers he's "developing" unexpectedly! *That* I would read! Tell me it exists somewhere!

I'm hoping that guy is playing an elaborate April Fool's joke. Ew! Actually, more power to him, but it seems counterintuitive to me. We have nose hairs up there to trap germs for a reason, right? I don't think it's an ancient nasal fishing net. Plus, wouldn't stomach acid destroy the ickies anyway?

I might be biased, as I'm not fond of booger flavor.

Well, next time you get a bag of Bertie Bott's, you can send me all the bogie flavored ones!

I suppose it could be an April fool's joke. That would be silly. q: But the logic is that it works like a vaccine; you get a low dose of weakened or dead germs, which is enough to activate your antibodies, without actually making you sick. If they went right into the lungs they *would* make you sick. There are oral vaccines, after all.

Looks like somebody else has already done the work of tracking down the good Dr. Bischinger, but hasn't heard back yet.. The original source seems also to post a lot of other "quirky" stories, so it very well could be that at least Dr. B. believes it.

Aww... hope the "everything else" gets better.

Also, chewing on random toy parts is good for the teeth

Depends on the type of toy. Some hard plastics can chip teeth. Most toys nowadays are made of wood, or cheap plastic, though... that should be fine ^^

And in turth, the cut only had one tmi, really. the X-files part can't count, since it's related, and the nose-picking doesn't qualify as tmi.
