let's all stand up
10 Things I Hate About Fandom Unpopular Fandom Opinions.
1)Mary-Sue is no more or less than bad characterization. Calling someone else's story that does not justify your ValleyGirl!Hermione epic. Except this is not exactly unpopular. So, instead: F_W, when it works properly, *is* a good source for fandom news. Because there, we're supposed to at least act as if we don't have any personal stake in it. And by and large, it *does* work.
2) Bookverse OTP: Hermione/Crabbe. Movieverse crush: Goyle.
3) Peter Pettigrew is a good guy. And cute.
4) MWPP were *not* all in Gryffindor.
5) Snape's greasy hair is sexy.
6) Bizarre crossovers and silly AUs can be well done.
7) The wizarding world obviously has very different standards for child abuse/endangerment. And reckless endangerment in general. Trying to apply Muggle ethics to any particular case is willfully misinterpreting canon.
8) People should not post a disclaimer stating that the canon characters are borrowed, but the original characters are THEIRS, and don't use them or they'll sue. Especially if they honestly don't see the hypocrisy there.
9) Sex is funny. And t00by love is not going to redeem anyone. Romeo and Juliet was a parody, folks.
10) The pureblood isolationist philosophy is no less ethical, and is more logical than the current wizarding world's policy. Draco Malfoy is a far better moral role model than any of the Gryffindors we have seen.
In other news, my wrist hurts. And before someone comments that I should try actually using the computer from a *chair*, it doesn't hurt when I type or mouse or write. Only when I'm actually moving. It feels like I pulled something or slept on it wrong. Only it's been two days now. Blech. Just in general, blech.

But it was not marked as such... *cackles*
You know, I think that movie!Goyle is going to grow up to be one of the better-looking of the male cast members. This amuses me very much.

I actually agree with all of your opinions. Would you please expand on 10, though? It's interesting.
