Look! An update!

1.) Oh my god. Mike kissed Dave!!. I knew it all along, the violence and tentacles were just UST. Almost inspires me to go crawling back to the board . . . *shivers*.

2.) I'm an O's fan. I was around for the '97 season. Stop bringing back bad memories, k thanks? And don't even talk about the team-who-must-not-be-named.

3.) I've lost my ID card and am afraid to leave my dorm. Stay tuned for developing allergy to sunlight.

4) Yes, fanfic stuff is still happening, just not in any actual getting-things-done sense.

I fled the forums a year ago when the lame "war threads" started being the only living thing there. Disgusting x_x

But... I once wrote a fanfic where Mike and Dave fell in love (via love potion) and got married ;)

Didn't they move the war threads to the rpg board? Eh. I've ducked back in a few times, but, eh.

Fanfic. Where. Now.

Search for the fanfic "Kaboom!" ;) Author: Woapalanne. It's still on the forums somewhere, I think. If not, I can send you the doc file.

Yeah, but were you around for '88?

Of course, my Fan For All Seasons badge is among my most cherished possessions, what do you take me for?

But I was actually referring to the Yankees fan in the stands interfering in key play and losing us our chance at the Series.bit.

[identity profile] zodiaccat.livejournal.com 2003-10-19 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
o' course, this year's was a bit different, in that the fan in question didn't revel in (and recieve season tickets for) his interference. Then again, this year, the fan in question lived in the screwed teams town. Guess that would change things...

I still like how Baker was telling the Cubs that they wanted to win game 7 for that guy. "For us, this is just a game, but for him, it's his whole life." (I'm kinda pretty sure this is the quote. Too lazy to check it.)

Actually, I haven't been following any of it very closely this year, because I have no particular interest in the Cubs or the s0x, and have long ago given up on they-who-must-not-be named getting what they deserve. Have simply gotten sick of all the Cubs fans on my flist moaning, as if it's never happened to anyone before. That was the only sports event that's really made much of an impression on me, since I actually started *caring* that year how the Orioles did; it was their first real chance at the Series since I was born. And they wuz *robbed* ;)

This year it was their own guy? Gah, no sympathy at all then, you can't even hate the fan for it.

As for Wil . . my god, the article (http://www.egmmag.com/article2/0,4364,1338730,00.asp) he links to in the next entry? There are kids out there who have never played Tetris? Who think Space Invaders are their parents' generation, and Super Mario Brothers is old and ugly? I'm too young to feel this old--

[identity profile] speakerender.livejournal.com 2003-10-19 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
*tease* Getting old! (wait... I'm older then you... oh well, *points again* still getting old!)

[identity profile] zodiaccat.livejournal.com 2003-10-19 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Hh. I was about to reply with a link to an EGM article, then I click your link and see that's the one you were talking about. Most of those games are my favorites! I used to call "Dance of the Sugarplum Fairies" the "Tetris Song" for years!

Except E.T... for anyone who hasn't played this game, I suggest you either find an Atari, dig one out of the closet (or just turn it on ^^), and play E.T for the 2600. It is far and away the single worst game. Ever. Try to get out of a pit and tell me you don't agree. So, as the young child said... "Kill E.T!"

As far as mario goes... all I can say is this (with apologies to Cap'n Lou):

Swing your arms from side to side, c'mon it's time to go! Do the Mario! Take one step, and then again. Let's do the Mario! All together now!

[identity profile] speakerender.livejournal.com 2003-10-19 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey Pizontos, It's the super mario brothers super show! "We're The Mario Brothers and plumbing is our game, we're not like the others that get all the fame. If your sink is in trouble you can call us on the double, we're faster then the others, you'll be hooked on the brothers!"

I read that the company tried to push for a Christmas release of the ET game. Which gave the makers and designers just a few weeks to pull it off, 6 I think.

[identity profile] zodiaccat.livejournal.com 2003-10-21 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah; six weeks. I don't really blame the programmers, since they couldn't have made a decent game in that short a timeframe unless one of them happened to be named Yahweh Jehovahson.

I blame the company. If they wanted to put an ET game out by Christmas, they should have worked earlier on getting the liscence. I mean; how many other companies were shooting for it back then? Major ball-dropping going on there.

Well on a bad day, I hate this new generations music fads and then spongebob just saddens me with it's popularity. 80s retro is surprisingly popular but when did I get old enough to remember the good old days? Whatever you do don't visit your elementary school you'd be surprised how small everythings grown.

Dave got smooched *laughs* he may never sleep again. This after transgendering. Dahlia is disturbingly cute, remind me to expect females to not be spineless moralists without the intestinal fortitude to go against social norms ever.

NY friend who is visiting sadly supports her home team. I've got money on her innability to get me to cheer for them. Been an O's fan since '88 if it were just about winning I would have wised up.

So get a replacement card from Lee (I think it is) then you can start attending the home games.

beware the PTFC...
