Forsooth

So. Four truths and one lie? Everybody else is doing it.I find it very fun. Unfortunately it took me this long to think up four somewhat interesting things about me that nobody who reads this journal already knows. But here they are:

1. By the age of 11, I was already a jewel thief
2. I once went to a school dance and took notes on "social behaviors of the suburban teenager"
3. One of my oldest novels-in-progress features a charming, swashbuckling rogue called the Sparrow
4. The "Current Music" field on my LJ is used to encode secret information
5. The only HP fanfic person I've met in real life is cofounder of one of the biggest archive sites

I'm very bad at coming up with these. If you want to prove you can outguess me, give a comment here. I'll post answers and explanations in about twelve hours.

4. Definitely 4. No secrets there. I never understood the fish from your subject lines a while ago, though. It must be some pop culture thing you've perverted horribly, and I just live under a bigger rock than you.

The only other one I'd have reason to doubt would be 3, because it's something nobody would doubt if you told them. So there;-)

The fish thing was in fact an ongoing word-for-word transcription of the conversation on my dorm room's whiteboard. Except the whiteboard had pictures. I have no more understanding of it than you, really.

It ended one friday night when somebody on hall thought it would be hilarious to scrawl "Woo I'm Drunk" over everybody's door. Since then we've gotten the happy peppy jelly fish and a castle with the caption "gold fish have a 3 second memory" which I can't but think is a reference to this (http://otal.umd.edu/honr298c/time/prof.htm), courtesty Daina. But the new stuff isn't as fun.

Err, yeah. So I live under a rock and totally didn't get 3 at all. I picked 4 and I'm staying with it.

Hmmm. I'm happy to believe #1, because I was a rotten little kid who swiped stuff.
I want to believe #2, because it's charmingly dorky.
#3 sounds plausible, in that "Aargh! Damn you, pop culture!" sort of way.

I'm not sure about #4 or #5. I think I'll guess #4, picking randomly between those two.

Willing to believe #1, since you don't say what kind of jewels.

2... Not quite as likely, but I'll go with it.

3 is the one I'm going to say is the lie. If you are writing this, you started recently.

4, I believe, since I do the same on occasion.

5 is not totally unbelievable.

Soo... 3.

(This looks like a neat idea. I wanna try... *updates*)

I vote for 3 or 5 .. probably more likely to be 5, since you've written all sorts of junk, and I think I probably would have heard about it if you'd met a super-big HP fanfic person.

Showing how little I probably know

Well, I know 2 is true. I'd believe 4 as well, and maybe 1. So I'm going with the same thought as Katy, 5 because you'd have mentioned meeting said person in your journal if you did it. (Though you only recently mentioned a novel with "Sparrow" in it recently, but that wasn't something you were writing)

So I'm going with 5.
