I was *not* the one who softlinked mincing to PotC. The fact that I was planning to is irrelevant, as somebody else got there first. :P

I'm just updating to say that I have nothing to say, which is really a very strange state for me. Usually I am bubbling over with nonsense and am merely either too lazy, too busy, or too shy to actually type it up. But at the moment I'm not busy, have actually been writing both fics and essays, and am quite full of ideas and confidence, I just suddenly have no motivation to share them with anyone. It is very odd. I was tempted by my flist to post a long spiel on human sexuality across cultures, but was unable to build up the motivation to actually say anything.

I think I shall go color now.

Oh, while we're on the subject of foppishness: Which King of France was it who was famous for his "lace-trimmed tigresses" and penchant for dressing in women's clothing at balls? I remember reading a contemporary quote along the lines of "it was difficult to tell whether he was a man-queen or woman-king." But Google is giving me nicht naught nothing. Something is telling me it was one of the Henris- Henri II maybe? Arrr. Shall bother me forever.

Edit: Also, what is the name of the submarine in Baltimore Harbor? The one with the shark teeth? It starts with a "T", and then my mind automatically fills in "Tardis". *headdesk*.

You aren't busy?!? How's that happen? *grin*

Well, okay, actually I should be writing a response paper or getting caught up on my e-mail or doing laundry or actually eating food or reading schoolbooks or coding or writing.

It's just that I don't have any firm deadlines or tests or anything until next tuesday, so am *feeling* as if I have free time.

That sounds more like it

Okay, that sounds more like usual *smile*

It's the Torsk! A number of years ago there was some kind of amateur radio thing going on and they were broadcasting from the Torsk, which is likely why I remembered the name. I can't recall if I've ever been in it or not.. I think so, though.

As far as the foppish French King, I have no idea, and I'm not finding any good sites on French royalty right off the bat..

Ah! Torsk! Thank you! I tour it every few years when we have cousins down to visit. Not as interesting as the Constellation, but kind of fun.

Yeah, I ran into the same problem with the French royalty. May actually have to hit the library if it keeps bugging me . . .

(I like the icon too. Thanks. Very tempted to braid my hair down again; too bad it's almost winter.)

(I love the new icon, btw)

*giggles* Great minds must think alike. *giggles more* So now, when you look up "mincing" in the dictionary, there's a picture of Jack Sparrow (or near enough).

OH, I know who you mean, but dammit, I can't remember who you mean. I'm sure I read of him in "The Book Of Lists". Henri or Charles I think....
