I'll buy you a very big hat.
So I was meaning to get up early this morning and get stuff done. Instead, I stayed in bed until 11-bloody-o'clock. Because I was having a dream about Pirates of the Caribbean fanfiction. (Yes, the Black Swann was in it, too.) I have reached the point where I dream about fanfiction written for movies which I *haven't even seen*. Good dream, though.
And PotC has been on my list of 'movies to see' ever since the madder half of my flist has been squealing and writing fanfic about it. So I figured I'd check the listings for the campus theater to see if it was coming there cheap anytime soon.

stellar_dust? Are you still keeping track of odd psychic coincidences? This afternoon was the one-time-only *free showing* of PotC.
Who am I to buck destiny? I went. And I didn't even have to give Disney any money. When I got there, the line stretched halfway to the food court. Very, very good movie, though. I might even have to pay to go see it again while it's still there. Much, much better than I was expecting, even considering everything I've heard about it. Ripping good plot that even made sense, very fun characters, I don't know enough about the historical period to care about accuracy, and I even *enjoyed* the fight scenes! However, due to stupid college kids, I missed the part of the story told to Will where it is explained why Jack is so, ah, fey. Anybody care to enlighten me? Also, Norrington does not value his ships nearly enough, he loses them too lightly. Somebody needs to teach him.
I stayed through the credits because I always do at movies. How is it that I'd managed to absorb nearly every bit of the plot and characters, but nobody warned me to stay through the credits? <3<3<3 Jack.
Good thing I got all my homework done last night, as apparently I was fated to waste the rest of the weekend trying to find all the PotC fic recs I've been skipping till I see the movie. If I do not find any about the two pirates with the parasols, I shall be *very disappointed*.

The list of coincidences was originally supposed to apply to those that directly involve *me* in some manner, but I haven't had any recently, so .. *shrug* added.
