GIP.
I have decided that this year, come hook or come crook, by hell or high water, I am going to either CapClave or the World Fantasy Convention. Anybody want to come along?
(This has nothing to do with Nimbus or ComicCon. Nothing.)
Thusday I did indeed go down to school. Spent so long having fun at the library I didn't make it to the bookstore, however,so still have money to burn. Will think on this. Then Aaron fed me rat-on-a-stick. *Without* ketchup! Imagine!
He also loaned me the first five Sandman collections. I was going to be good on Friday, and actually do stuff, but then there was a thunderstorm and the light got bad, so I went up to my room and lit a candle and started reading. Reading Sandman for the first time by candlelight in a thunderstorm isn't something one can just *stop* doing.
Saturday Mom decided we were going to get up early and have a yard sale. After that I was so tired that I spent the rest of the day reading and doodling pictures of Endless.
Today after church we went to visit my cousins and their brand-new baby, and give her the stuffed pterodactyl I made. Baby resembles Voldemort, except with pretty blue eyes. It cried when I held it. Mom and the new mother were comparing hot flashes and graphically describing the birth process. I now know far more than I want to about how sister was born. Then we went to set up for VBS, which is a rant unto its own.

The CapClave looks mildly interesting, what about the local anime cons though?

Odlly, I have never had any great desire to attend an anime con.

Me neither, except where it involves seeing a bunch of friends *grin* But it's an interesting experience, people running around in costumes etc
Rat on a Stick
Lawry's 30-Minute Marinade (Mesquite with Lime Juice): water, lime juice from concentrate, salt, distilled vinegar, high fructose corn syrup, modified food starch, caramel color, garlic powder, spices including parika, natural flavor, dried lemon peel, onion powder, cirtic acid, xanthan gum, sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate and natural mesquite smoke flavor.
There does seem to be an unfortunate lack of tomatoes here.
Heinz Tomato Ketchup: Tomatoes, Distilled Vinegar, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Sugar, Salt, Spice and Herb Extracts, Spice, Garlic Powder.
We do have in common the vinegar and the corn syrup - I'd bet my tail that it's these two ingredients rather than the tomatoes that make the rats worth eating. So there.
Re: Rat on a Stick
"Have you tried rat without ketchup?" said Carrot.

:P
Although, actually, your recipe is probably a lot more like rennaissance-style ketchup, I must admit.

Erm, now, rat-on-a-stick wouldn't *actually* invove rat, would it?
I very much hope not. Well, since Beaver Tails don't contain beaver...

I have never had beaver tails. Are they fried dough? I think? We call them things elephant ears in these h'yer parts.
My parents keep raving about how you can't git good, old fashioned boiled muskrat anymore.
