Did you know a cell phone hooked to a GPS reciever is easily converted to a time machine?
God save me from two-hour-long vacation bible school meetings. Or, as Dad says (repeatedly) whenever we drag him to church, Lord have mercy! Also, Pastor is one of those annoying people who always have to ask you what you're reading, and I was reading my Illustrated Dictionary of Alchemy with HP:PS inside it. Fun. Mom had a coloring book with her supplies; I colored. Apparently I shall be spending next week running the PrayStation, which sounds like something out of Lord of Light. Or possibly Orwell. (And the theme of one of the days is "Jesus is Watching You". No, really.)
Big news: I have actually earned money! For doing work! For the first time in my life! Yep, Helen from quilting paid me and mom $50 to scrub off the tar specks that had got all over her car. I shall go to College Park Thursday and blow it all at the bookstore. (oh, Katy, I got yer book). Meanwhile I've applied for another summer job; keep your fingers crossed for me.
Quilting yesterday we started working on the big quilt that will be raffled. It's absolutely beautiful; Maple Leaf squares in bright colors on a green background. It's also so big that to baste the layers together, I ended up sitting tailor-fashion on the middle of the quilt to stitch the center squares. The old ladies kept marveling at how flexible I am. Ah, how nice to be young and have knees that bend.
