the things I have left undone

No, keyboard still not working. Currently using opera for linux on a SPARC workstation in the solaris lab in the engineering library. Unable to stay off the computer (which is a good thing, as now owe Quirrell slash to [livejournal.com profile] wired_lizard. Stuck after 800 words. Have no idea of proper protocol when propositioning schoolmate for gay sex). So, instead,

16. DO YOU LIKE TO DRIVE FAST? Oh yes. I'll often go as much as five miles over the speed limit.

17. DO YOU SLEEP WITH A STUFFED ANIMAL? Yep.

resumed breathing and 2) my body is still laying below the bed. Have fun determining all the things I can and can't do now I'm dead. (Seem to be basically Ghost Squad type ghost). Wake up to class in fifteen minutes and think. "oh, damn. It wasn't real."

40. WHAT SCREEN SAVER IS ON YOUR COMPUTER RIGHT NOW? The hypercube that comes with Red Hat. and it's STUCK, because my keyboard's broken.

Have you tried
kill `ps ax | grep 'xscreensaver -nosplash' | head -n1 | awk '{ print $1; }'` (ie. just killing xscreensaver)
That should kill the screensaver. You might not be able to do much but at least it's not blocking you.

Also, I thought you were running Mandrake. Did you switch to Red Hat or are you just using a screensaver from it?

Nope, always been running Red Hat.

Hmm... somehow I managed to misread R'lyehdat (http://wam.umd.edu/~sallyc/me.png) as some mangling of Mandrake. Maybe I was just thinking of my own early Linux days.

Does not mean I will *answer* it, mind.

She'll answer it if you call six or seven times in a row.

Or else she'll start tapping her foot in time with the ring.

Or I'll leave, so I can semi-truthfully say I must have been out when asked about it later.

Oh of course I realize that. But hey, worth a try.
