The DADT one is an SG1/Boston Legal crossover - if you don't know Boston Legal, it's about a smartass lawyer named Alan with a talent for winning impossible and/or ridiculous social justice cases, who is played by James Spader (who was Daniel Jackson in the Stargate move.) In the last episode of the season, Alan and his best-friend-forever Denny (played by William Shatner, no less) get gay married. Because they can! And they love each other!
So, now that Jack lives in a jurisdiction where gay marriage is legal (!!!!!), clearly Alan would be Daniel's go-to guy for figuring out how to make it possible. :D
And yes, the Spock & Nyota one is me dealing with some of the things I find icky in canon versions of Vulcan sexuality - the part where they only have sex in Pon Farr, for one; and the part where Pon Farr is triggered by the female partner - by writing my sexuality onto movie!Uhura. (Which, I do get the race issues around the portrayal of Uhura's sexuality in TOS, but she was one of my rare role models for a female character who didn't give a damn about boys, and I'd like to reclaim that, too. Hopefully without the icky parts.)
