Kutritz told me in email that (in her memory, anyway) the fanfic on the DMEB was pretty evenly het and slash, even if the slash was largely parodic (my guess would be along the lines of Sith Academy). Your memory may vary, of course, unless someone else wants to run stats on the remaining archive :D. (My actual guess is that they were the polls she used because they were the only polls she had - for that paper she wasn't doing surveys, she was doing what I'm doing here and using pre-existing polls done by fans.)

Checking back, in the email Kustritz actually said "gay men pretending to be female" not "gay men using female pseuds". My bad: I was *really tired* at the time I re-wrote this. I suspect the reason for that was a combination of really icky systematic misogyny and really icky systematic homophobia...
