I was using the reasoning that the "Q" in lgbtq is often meant to stand for "questioning" as well as "queer" and therefore, as I was using the broadest lgbttqqia umbrella possible, "questioning" people should count, and "unsure" is essentially a synonym.

Also, because in any poll that doesn't have my sexuality as an option, I would have been forced to pick "unsure" or "questioning", and I would have done the same for a long time before I figured out that my sexuality *was* an option, and I am sure not straight, and never considered myself so, and I know many other people in my situation who feel the same.

My use of "queer" as shorthand for "not straight" isn't, alas, a perfect solution, so it may include people who wouldn't describe themselves as queer but don't identify as straight either; I defined how I was using the term, and that's the best I can do, as it seemed a better solution than defining a community by the negative.

If you are, or know of, any people who would pick "unsure" as an option but identify as straight, please point me to discussions, I would like to understand! I suspect in that case they would have picked the "straight" option, though.
