I tried the xubuntu alternate install (and livecd), and they're both giving me a variety of errors that, according to google, trace back to my BIOS and basic chips just plain being too old. So I think I'm just writing it off as a loss. Boo.

(*Puppy* didn't give me any of this hassle...)
