"anything else" - I see what you meant, now. I was taking it back to the previous line about trusting other people's sight. I like either "anything else" or "anyone else's". The first, I think, is more paranoid; the second feels like he realizes he's not in it alone. The second flows better in context with the rest of the sentence, though.

I was assuming "now" was mid-season-6, based on your spoiler warning. Him sitting somewhere, musing. I like the all-internal nature of it; if you do want to expand it and give it a plot and tie in Samantha's eyes, establishing "where" could be a good idea. Tossing and turning on the waterbed? the couch? A random hotel on a case? Driving somewhere? Stargazing alone in a field, or with Scully? Looking through old x-files in the office makes him think about it? Or is he somewhere peaceful or on a case *with* Scully, telling her about it? Hmm.

Point out some annoying phrases and I"ll see what I can do. If you're staying up late online, pop on aim. I've been up too late all week, I can do it again.

I don't think I ever had that tape .. it's probably still in the cabinet under the TV somewhere, I think that was the last place I saw it. If you *really* think I have it I think there's some tapes in or around my beside stand. It's definitely not here with me. I *do* have the peter, paul and mary CDs, though.

Yes, well, they took you in a much more subtle and insidious way. Probably gleeped in through your eyes while reading Coville, or something, so it took me awhile to notice and by then I was used to it.

You should join all-xf yourself. You already have a yahoo account, you can tell it not to send you email if you don't want to get spammed. But submit it yourself under your own name. And do the Spookys, I wanna see if you win. (:
