Characters dealing with traveling to fictional universes (to them) are always fun! I bonded to Heinlein's book that goes really deep on the question at a young age (and have written fic about it.)

Further up and further in definitely sounds like it would have belonged in that sequence! I quit Narnia before the Last Battle though, so I wouldn't have caught it.

Mary as a rogue Watcher makes a lot of sense actually!
