April is the cruellest month

Once more, National Poetry month is here,
And this year I even remembered on time,
Although I think it's kind of queer
That neither Poetry nor Month nor April has a good rhyme.
I could try to rhyme with National;
But I wish they'd just picked May -
It seems like that would be more rational,
You could use a different rhyme for May on every day.

Anyway this week is also when crackthewip went live
And I thought my fic was due on the first,
But it turns out I have several more days and could make it if I strive,
Which is absolutely the worst,
Because now I have to actually do it
And I know exactly what I want to write,
Except I don't want to write,
I just want to watch eight-hour Youtube VODs and play Minecraft and screw it.
