I feel like with HIMYM it's almost more "How I Met Your Mother" as an abstract concept vs. the "How I Met Your Mother" decision makers, the show itself was actively fighting them by the end.

Oh she wasn't fourteen in the film! But there's a bit in the film where they're fighting about when they were together before and she says something like "I was a child!" and... yeah, according to paracanon, she was. And that was after somebody talked Lucas into aging her up a couple years :(((( Which goes back to my "grown men who date teenagers are an active turnoff" thing.
