I have not seen the Sean Connery movie! But I've watched the whole show and it really is better than it has any right to be. Although probably most of what you'll have gotten from osmosis is based on the vibe of the show post-S3, after Methos and Joe start taking much bigger roles, it's a very different show before Tessa dies mid-S2 (though still good!)
