Bajor is mentioned offhand to have 26 hour days, so it's not unreasonable to think Cardassia's rotation is much the same. She's Tinsnip and is usually up for this.

The Jewish calendar has the occasional leap month. It just gets slipped in there to make sure the coming years stay in alignment with the seasons and the moon phases. It's pretty cool, if I do say so myself.
