Post-Yuletide (??)
Hi all! Happy 2020!
I more-or-less recovered from my Christmas cold, started to catch up with stuff, and then promptly came down with strep throat instead, which I am now sort-of recovered from.
At least the strep throat was post-holiday, so I could just curl up under a blanket for three days with a cup to spit into, and not have to deal with social stuff.
One of my start-of-year resolutions was going to be to get back to posting to DW at least weekly, so this is a terrible start. I think I may just turn all of my resolutions into STOP GETTING SICK ALREADY.
Anyway! My yuletide was really great though!
I got two wonderful Yuletide fics:
"Curtain Material" is post-canon document fic about Nicola from The Thick of It learning to be happy again after canon as something other than a politician, and it is so good! and it 100% respects my DNW about actual RL politics, if you, too, have been DNW'ing that. The secondary highlight of my yuletide was watching other people wander by and appreciate it as much as I do. monksandbones wrote it and I was right! I shall now much less guiltily assume it's a sequel to her Malcom/Nicola fic about their ill-judged affair, which I was already assuming before reveals anyway. :P)
