I mean, that's what it is in *practice*, usually, but there's a base organization under it. :P I got to the point about ten years ago though that if it didn't have at least some kind of base organization, I would never find anything. And I do pull books for reference fairly often so I need to be able to find stuff (also I have, like, an internal 'don't end up like Grandma' rule that once a collection of stuff reaches the point where you can't quickly access something if you want to, it's a hoard, not a collection, and it needs to go.) It helps that my LibraryThing catalog is scrupulously updated, so I can use that as an index, as long as they're sorted by something LibraryThing tracks.
