I'm pretty sure I've read it in the Enemies to Nemeses to Lovers version, where it goes 'someone I oppose' -> 'someone I deeply loathe and am committed to destroying' -> 'oops I said loathing I meant sexual tension'. (in fact that version is a significant fraction of all Harry Potter fanfic ever written.)

But I would love to see a fic where nemeses on its own was considered by all to be an appropriate culmination!
