The earliest version of Facebook was literally Zuckerberg deciding he wanted a way to let people publicly rate the relative hotness of his female classmates at Harvard. (apparently it let you compare them to farm animals too, which is news to me!) This is one of many, many reasons I have never had a Facebook page.

I am not particularly an expert in the state of psychology in particular, but I follow retractionwatchblog_feed to keep up with the current state of bad science in many fields, and try to read papers for media-viral studies as they cross my screen to stay in practice. (And follow scientific skepticism stuff in general.)
