to-do list blogging
So I have the next week(-ish) off work, and nothing much planned! It'll be the first time since I got a proper grown-up job that I've taken more than a long weekend to slob around the house, which is a weird thing to think about (even in my family, my parents were teachers and my sister's in the ivory tower, so we always had summers.)
Anyway, AS YOU DO, I have made color-coded spreadsheet of stuff I want to get done while off, and I repost here for accountability:
-Building Committee Meeting
-Dentist appt.
-VA roadtrip (? maybe)
Highest Priority:
--clear out the oubliette of junk behind the couch
--go through crafting stuff to find the projects I want to work on
--put away all the junk I've been putting on the top bunk to put away later
**tidy up the messes made by tidying
--update my dw style
--do my yuletide signup and letter
**get car emission checked
High priority:
--get car checked
--clear back corner of bedroom (this depends on getting the top bunk clear)
--fix hats (this depends on going through crafting stuff)
--go to laundromat (depends on both of the above)
--go to eye doctor to adjust glasses frames so they don't constantly fall off
--get a flu shot
--go to post office to mail stuff that is behind couch
--get a haircut (requires figuring out how to tell barber what I want)
--try to fix up the busted antique chest of drawers mom talked me into buying last week
--go through the box of busted electronics, fix what I can, get rid of the reset
--make granola bars, dehydrate extra fruit, revive honey
**clean out fridge
--change all my passwords
--fix and/or get rid of busted record players
--make a bbp prototype (depends on going through craft supplies)
--find yarn for christmas knitting (depends on going through craft supplies)
--fix the rag rug I bought at the family reunion (depends on going through craft supplies)
--go through mending box, either fix or ragify (depends on going through craft supplies)
--tag along to mom's volunteering
--see friends
--put summer clothes away
Medium Priority:
--clean car headlights
--shelve & purge books (depends on other bedroom cleanup)
--tidy the foyer
--start leaf-raking
**tents/porch
--put shells in rock garden (depend on leaf-raking)
--put rag rug on bedroom floor (Depends on all previous bedroom stuff)
--move in new chest of drawers, trash dresser (Depends on all previous bedroom stuff)
--clean up garden beds for winter
--walk the b&a trail
--go to the beach/get library card
--do some kind of canvass/phone banking/election volunteering
--go to the dino park
--visit family
--backup files (depends on fixing electronics)
--figure out how to move savings to mutual funds
--finish in-progress sewing/crafting projects (list to be generated later)
Low priority:
--clean kitchen cupboards
--go through kitchen bookshelf
--go through piano music books
--go to bank (depends on figuring out investment stuff)
--shop (for needed craft, chest, electronic repair supplies; early holiday?)
--decide about new phone?
--start new sewing projects
--clear roof/gutters
Things I would like to make part of a daily routine, at least while off work:
--start habitica again
--walk for pokego
--read library/fmk/in-progress books, floppy comics
--revise original stories
--do stretching exercises
--work on writing wips
--sketch something
--watch something on to-watch list
--do tag wrangling
--work on foreign language
--play piano
--cook
--write postcards
detailed list of writing and crafting wips to work on to be generated later today, after I have cleared a few things off the list.)
I am hoping to get through all the highest priority stuff, at least half the high, and a significant number of the medium. Which is less than four things a day, which should be doable? I guess we'll find out!
This is going to be sort of a life-reset because I am shifting work schedules starting in November to be working a lot more evening shifts. And also a test to see if I can figure out how to be productive while not going to work every day, to see if that is ever going to be a viable alternative for me.

.... I wonder if there are people who have a week off and don't immediately start working on a plan to manage their anxiety about it....
