After several hours attempting to get ADB to work, I am about to factory reset my phone and wipe the memory card, because I am tired of being almost out of space and random things not working.

Just in case the backups still didn't work, I am recording here that my highest tile on 2048 at the time of the wipe was 2^19 .

Okay, so far I have:

wiped & restarted phone
confirmed voice calls work
deleted crap
checked all the settings
installed (w/successful backup!) podcast addict
added custom background and ringtone
imported sms backup
imported contacts backup
installed a new game

... which is all the really important stuff.

that leaves:
reinstall important apps
see if games backup worked
decide what media to put on phone
change settings that were only there for reinstalling backups

(I am doing this while also theoretically house-cleaning, so it's even slower than otherwise.)

SITHSPIT. :D I have no memory of what the proper response to “Witness me” actually is, but that is a fucking amazing highest 2048 tile. (I think I got to 4096 once. ^_^)

Well, this is on the SUPER JUMBO BOARD on the app, which has a) undo, and b) a much higher hypothetical max than the 4x4 board - I got up to 65536 on the 4x4 board back in the day after a lot of dedicated effort, which is almost the highest you can get on that board. The 8x8 board is actually a lot easier in some ways - it's a lot harder to fill the board up without *any* possible moves, you can almost always just keep going *somehow*. But it has a hypothetical maximum of 2^65, and it's taken me over two months just to get up to 2^19, so... that'll be awhile. (The backup did work, though! I don't have to start over!)

(I get obsessive about puzzle games sometimes.)
