I suspect a lot of these have racism problems. :/ although in my own vague childhood memories of Thornton Burgess, humans very rarely appear, so now I am curious as to how that works. (If it's just "some races of animals are stereotyped as evil/stupid/brutish", I have yet to read a talking animals book of any era where that didn't happen.)
